Hunger Crisis

In Pakistan, malnutrition is a significant social problem. On the Global Hunger Index for 2021, Pakistan was given a ranking of 92nd place out of 116 countries.

Unrest on the political and economic fronts have plagued Pakistan for a good number of years now. Undernourishment and malnutrition have become significant problems across the country as a direct result of the aforementioned factors as well as the aftermath of natural disasters. Around twenty percent of the total population suffers from malnutrition.

This translates to nearly 40 million people who are not receiving an adequate amount of the necessary nutrients on a daily basis. This represents a nearly twofold increase compared to the percentage of people who are undernourished across the globe. Despite the fact that Pakistan has taken measures over the course of the last few years to improve the countryโ€™s overall food situation, the issues that are related to food security continue to exist, and hunger remains a significant problem in the country.

How canย IHYA Internationalย help?

At IHYA International, we work hand in hand with our sponsors and volunteers to ensure that we are doing everything we can to contribute to the effort to eradicate hunger. Their invaluable support allows us to assist whole families every month in their fight against hunger, by helping us put together and distribute Ration packages.

We offer a range of support packages, from monthly to biannual and annual, to cater to your preferences. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in the lives of the families we assist.

We not only provide meals daily, but we also organise community iftar and suhoor programmes, where we gather the community to break their fast together during Ramadan, and distribute food hampers in addition to that.
